Khadro Goddesses
In the Tibetan language, kha means sky, celestial space, or emptiness; dro is a sentient female being who is dancing or otherwise in motion. The Tibetan kha'dro (in Sanskrit, dakini) is variously translated as "celestial woman," "space goer," or "sky dancer."
These goddesses are embodiments of wisdom and compassion who appear in the meditations, dreams, and visions of human beings to help them in their quest for enlightenment. They represent the sacred union of body and mind in meditation, a place where wisdom and emptiness meet and become one, and come to assist us in overcoming physical and spiritual obstacles to awakening.
